We Found Them

We Found Them is a capital city quest which appears with your Village Elder at around Level 7.

The objective is to defeat the enemy, requiring to go round the map in a circle as you destroy successive enemy camps, walls, buildings and soldiers.

Start game

You begin this quest provisioned with 8 Hetairoi.  These are cavalry units which are normally produced in your fort with the correct advisor.  They are quite good against siege and buildings.

You start with 8 Hetairoi and 4 farms ready to go

The enemy camps are in a circle, starting to the immediate left of your Town Centre.  You can start attacking those almost immediately with your Hetairoi.  The main warning is to note that you will be attacked from your right, so you need a small unit deployed to the right of your Town Centre.

Middle game

I quickly produced a few hypaspists and started the attack to the left almost from the very start.

The Hetairoi will make quick work of guard towers and walls, you'll have to break through at least two walls before you get to the first Town Centre.

I immediately set my Hetairoi against the enemy Town Centre, destroyed it quickly, but a very large enemy force came out and wiped them out - there are no replacements!  so I had to slow down the attack a bit, build up my forces and go again.

End game

Once your forces are built up again, it becomes a simple matter of completing the loop and finishing up where you started, once again, make sure you've left a few troops behind to guard against attacks on your town centre from the right.

Along the way there are two sets of bandits to win chests.

At this early stage, you may not have too many advisors to choose from.  I only had Apprentice Mason Philon, which is as good as any at this point (quick building).

This quest leads to Helping Out a Neighbor, and the scout quest giver swings into action with The Bandit Leaders.
